These are the Action Role Playing Games (ARPGs) I am playing and my thoughts because brian keeps asking what I am playing that is not on the quest list.
Path of Exile 1
The best ARPG even though I have not actually played that much of it.
The one bad aspect is that its so expansive that I am overwhelmed by the endgame consistently.
Path of Exile 2
Will be the best but needs like 2 more years. Love it. Excited for the next season.
Diablo 1 (also hellfire)
I loved this as a kid and still love it today.
Diablo 2: Resurrected
Holds up great, fun remaster. Looks beautiful. Still feels like a game from y2k.
Project Diablo 2
Amazing mod. Has a lot of funny stuff like "BUT WHAT IF EVERYONE HAD SPLASH" but it also has a currency stash tab which makes up for any shortcomings. Well deserved reputation as the best D2 mod.
Diablo 3
the best game when you want to go from dealing 6-8 damage to 700 trillion in a weekend.
Diablo 4
I played a lot of this during the current season and I don't think it's as bad as the memes say, but it's also clearly worse than POE or LE.
Diablo Immortal
This game has a lot of fun parts and I also think is a lot better than people give it credit for. The monetization is a War Crime though so I get it.
Undecember
This game is my spirit animal, because it is the ARPG version of Stormgate. The core game is great yet it has nothin but terrible, rough edges and absurdly bad handholding in tutorials. I'm obsessed.
Last Epoch
This game is good, and for some reason the vibe I get is "this is the game D4 tried to be and failed". I don't know why I make that connection.
The Slormancer
Incredible indie game. Overall gameplay reminds me of D3 a bit, you do a lot of small things over and over again to gain power in various ways and its extremely fun. Charming art and story.
Conquest Dark
This isn't really an ARPG as much as it is Vampire Survivors but it has the right ARPG DNA in it for me to count it. Love it.
Cat Quest 1/2/3
These are really good but I haven't finished them. I will probably save them for the next time I am on a plane.
Grim Dawn
Played a tiny bit of this after I saw a patch. It has guns and the gun builds are fun but I am not far into it.
Titan Quest
Played a little of this and I like it a lot. The phone port is weirdly good? Maybe like 30% through a campaign playthrough now.
Chronicon
Another small pixel-y art game. Started it, played a few hours, and it seems fun but ultimately suspect other indie ARGPs have outdone it by now.
Eternium
Another mobile game. It doesn't seem that good but people always list it as a game like they on phones.
AnimA ARPG
MOBILE GAME? I like the vibes of this one but it keeps falling to the back burner for me.
