This game is my spirit animal. It reminds me of Stormgate, great core gameplay but nothing but rough edges that are constantly trying to push you away. I'm obsessed.
The first thing I saw after installing was this hilariously sized confirmation. Also you have to select each individual box to enter a number.
And then I went to play and it said maintanence, wait 20 minutes. then i checked back later and it said one hour. then i checked later again and it said 2 hours. I had to play like two days later.
And then it loads with 3 unskippable cutscenes. Amazing. Starting off on the right foot.
Couple of very neat things however:
- Skill system is very open ended, classless, and reminds me a lot of POE with how supports are linked to main skill gems. It's very cool.
- On mobile there is an auto-cast what would otherwise be your right click ability, and it makes playing the campaign on a phone amazing. It's genius.
- There is also a pet that grabs gold and items for you right from the getgo. Good mobile-first thinking.
- There are waypoints right at the beginning of any section. I always forget how annoying this is in D2 or POE when you need to dig around for the stupid, fucking waypoint. Another good mobile optimization.
My final verdict: This game has, like, a lot of nudity on the steam community page. I've never seen so much.
